The season opens with the longtime audience favorite, Dancers Making Dances, a signature CDT production placing choreography in the hands of the dancers themselves.
For more than a decade, CDT has provided its artists the opportunity to create and produce a full evening of original work. Each choreographer partners with local visual artists and musicians selected through an open call, resulting in a weekend of performances that reflect the creative voices of Columbus artists.

In February, CDT presents The Dance Score, a new interdisciplinary work composed by local composers and performed live by local musicians headed by Zoe Johnstone and the Johnstone’s Fund for New Music. The program explores contemporary interpretations of classical French dance forms including Allemande, Sarabande, Courante, Bourrée, Minuet, Gaillarde, and Gigue, reimagining these structures through a modern choreographic and musical lens.
This work bridges historical form with present-day expression, creating a fresh dialogue between tradition and innovation.

This spring, CDT introduces Jazz!, an electrifying evening of dance set to live jazz music in collaboration with A Tribe for Jazz. Featuring local choreographers working closely with musicians and dancers, the performance offers an immersive, high-energy experience that celebrates the connection between movement and sound.

The season concludes with Seasons, a new contemporary ballet choreographed by CDT directors Seth and Jaime Wilson. Inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the work will feature an original score by Korine Fujiwara performed live by the Carpe Diem String Quartet. This production continues CDT’s tradition of blending classical inspiration with contemporary voice and live music.
